Kanchenjunga Trek

Our 23 days Kanchenjunga trek program takes you to the northern and southern base camp of the third highest peak in the world Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m). This peak lies in the eastern border of Nepal and towers over the Indian state of Sikkim. Another great trekking destination in Nepal which provides an excellent panoramic view of the Himalayas including four highest mountain in the world Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Kanchenjunga, different landscape and interesting cultures.

This region was opened to trekkers only in 1989 although people have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering expeditions since the turn of the century. Kanchenjunga trek starts from the southeastern corner of Nepal which is at an altitude of 70 m and ends up to the base camp of Kanchenjunga 5,1,50 m which is one of the greatest mountain masses in the world. The foothill of Kanchenjunga is home to Rai and Limbus whereas higher up Tibetans and Sherpas graze herds of yak. Kanchejunga trek is one of Nepal’s least trekked areas and certainly one of the best.
