general informations
types of trips in nepal
Pachermo Peak lies in the Rolwaling region of Nepal and is graded Alpine PD. It is one of the attractive peaks in Nepal and can be approached either from busy trekking trail of Khumbu region or from the off beaten trail of Rolwaling region.
The climb to Pachermo Peak trail goes along the well defined North West ridge which rises from the relatively flat crevassed glacier. The west ridge forms a very uniform slope which is covered with ice and snow and broken by crevasse’s and small serac’s which rise up from the rocky buttresses above the glacier. From the high camp summitting Pachermo Peak is a straight forward one but sometimes can pose difficulties because of crevasses condition while traversing the ice step below the summit.
Please find two different route option for summitting Pachermo Peak. AA.) From Khumbu Region other one BB.) From Rolwaling region. You can choose the one ideal for you.
Option AA : Approached from Khumbu Region
Our approach from Khumbu region follows Everest Base Camp trek trail till Namche Bazaar. Then the trails turns west to Thame and then Thengpo to Ngole to set up the base camp on the moraines ( 5,100m.). We further continue trekking north-east of the icefall of Tasi Lapcha and arrive just below the rock walls where we fix high camp on rocky terraces (5,500m.). From the high camp we gain the ridge of Pacharmo which is raised from the glaciers of Tasi Lapcha Pass. We follow the ridge without much difficulty but some time crevasses can cause some problems near to the summit.
