Day 02: Tour of Buddhist Stupa, Ancient Palaces, Local Market & Hindu Temples
Kathmandu Valley tour starts with a visit to Swayambunath Stupa, Kathmandu’s oldest and the most important shrine sitting on a hilltop west of Kathmandu city. It is the monuments which mark the birthplace of the Kathmandu Valley which later developed into the country of Nepal.
This is a significant pilgrimage destination for Buddhism, featuring a stupa, shrines, temples, and prayer wheels. It has rich history, spiritual atmosphere, and serene surroundings, gaining insights into Nepal’s cultural and religious tapestry.
After we set off to Patan, one of the oldest Buddhist cities, rich in both Hinduism and Buddhism. Patan boasts 136 bahals (courtyards) and 55 major temples, many of which are located near the historic Patan Durbar Square. Founded in the 2nd or 3rd century AD, Patan Durbar Square was expanded during the Malla dynasty and served as the royal palace. The vibrant architecture and intricate artwork showcase the beauty of Nepal’s rich Newar culture.
Patan is also renowned for its traditional metalworking artisans, particularly those who craft the famous Tibetan sound healing bowls. Day 03: Mountain Flight, Ancient Palace & Buddhist Spiritual Spot
