Day 01: Fly to PARO & drive to THIMPHU
Arrive in Bhutan with a scenic flight offering breathtaking views of the world’s highest Himalayan peaks. As you descend into the lush Paro Valley, marvel at the silver ribbon of the Paro River winding through green hills.
After completing immigration formalities, you’ll be greeted by our representative with a warm Bhutanese welcome, including a traditional white silk scarf. We then drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital—a unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Afternoon visit: Memorial Chorten (Thimphu Stupa)
Built in 1974 by the Royal Queen Mother in memory of the Third King, this sacred site holds rare treasures and Buddhist relics. Its brilliant white stupa and golden spire reflect Bhutanese spiritual artistry and serve as a powerful symbol of peace, compassion, and merit.

Day 02: Explore THIMPHU
Today we start the day by introductory talk on Buddhism from the Lama then attend a cleansing ceremony before embarking on your journey to rid yourself of life’s negatives and hardships. A monk will perform this rite by reciting and performing a water offering ceremony. It is thought that doing this ceremony will bring good fortune and a shower of positive energy.
Hike to Cheri Monastery which is a meditation center established in the year 1620 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal Cheri Monastery. It is a mystical monastery wrapped in myth and mystery. Here we will spend some time exploring the monastery and get indulged in Meditation. It is around 16 km/45 minutes away from Thimphu city. (4 hours)
We will also visit Tango Monastery which is adjacent to Cheri Monastery. It was founded by Lama Gyalwa Lhanampa in the 13th century. Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal meditated in its cave. It belongs to the Drukpa Kagyu School of Buddhism in Bhutan. (2 Hours)

Day 03: Drive to PUNAKHA (1,200 m)
Today start the day with brief Yoga session to purify the bodies, minds and souls.
Then a three-hour drive to Punakha over the 3050-meter (10000-foot) Dochula Pass, which, on a clear day, provides a breathtaking view of the eastern Himalayas. The pass is dotted with colorful prayer flags and chortens. Stroll around the pass, visit 108 Chortens dedicated to honor the Bhutanese soldiers who died battling the insurgents from India.’Chortens’ are important monuments and shrines in Buddhist culture. Typically, they are tombs of saints or monuments dedicated to Buddha.
Stop for a while for some tea/coffee with light snacks.
Then drive down via the villages of Lumitsawa, Thinleygang, and the lush Lobesa valley, all while traversing the forest of rhododendron and magnolia.
After we start hiking slowly for around an hour to Chime Lhakhang through the rice fields. This monastery is especially revered by women for its fertility powers.
Later visit Punakha Dzong well known for its magnificent architecture. This Dzong was built in the year 1637 AD by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. The temple within the site is impressive with the various magnificent Buddhas.

Day 04: Drive to BUMTHANG
Today is a long drive, initially to Trongsa which takes around 06 hours. It goes through the bustling market town of Wangduephodrang and goes up a winding mountain road through oak and rhododendron forests, cross over the Pele La Pass (3,420m) to Trongsa.
On the way we will see a beautiful Chendebji Chorten with painted eyes facing the four directions. This is a bit different structure then the other Chorten of Bhutan.
Journey continues through winding, steep road crossing Yo Yutung La Pass (3,400m) then descend through dense coniferous forest to the spiritual and historical heartland of the country Bumthang.

Day 05: Spiritual Immersion in BUMTHANG
Today is a deeply spiritual day as we immerse ourselves in the sacred energies of Bumthang Valley—often referred to as the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. The region is filled with legends, ancient temples, and timeless traditions connected with revered saints like Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) and Terton Pemalingpa.
Drive to Membartsho (Burning Lake) a sacred pilgrimage site with an altar dedicated to Terton Pema Lingpa. The holy lake is encircled by beautiful multi-colored prayer flags and a religious aura. The lake is considered important because of Pema Lingpa, an incarnated disciple of Guru Rinpoche.
Tsatsas or little conical clay mounds can be found in several locations surrounding the lake carved with a sacred Buddhist symbol and may include human ash or bone of the deceased. The nuns of Pema Tekchok Choling Nunnery take care of the site. If desired one could offer butter lamp for the good wishes of your family and folks.
Then drive further 2 kms in a feeder road to visit the Tharpaling Monastery situated at an elevation of 3,600m overlooking the picturesque Chumey valley. Revered as a Buddhist Monastery with deep historical and spiritual significance. This is an important centre for meditation and retreat, attracting monks and devotees seeking spiritual guidance and tranquillity. The tranquil and pristine environment enhances the spiritual experience for visitors. Here, we will engage in a short, guided meditation session, absorbing the tranquil energy of the space.
Return to the hotel for a brief Dharma talk with the Lama to reflect on the day’s experiences and understand deeper meanings of Bhutanese spiritual traditions.

Day 06: Drive to GANGTEY
Today, leave Bumthang early for Gangtey, which is roughly six hours away. You will witness local farmers wearing the distinctive bamboo hats that are woven in central Bhutan, and the terrain is dotted with farmhouses and temples. One of Bhutan’s few glacial valleys, the broad and charming Phobjikha valley is the preferred winter residence of blacknecked cranes (November to March) that migrate from the Tibetan plateau.
In the evening, we enjoy herbal-nourished waters that are thought to cure illnesses and ailments by taking a dip in a neighboring tavern’s “Dotso” herbal healing bath. The bath is made with fire-burned stones and water that have been boiled with up to 20 types of therapeutic herbs.

Day 07: Hiking in and around GANGTEY
Today, we explore the breathtaking Gangtey Nature Trail. After a short 25-minute drive to Longtey Village, near the Pelela Pass (3,300m), we begin our invigorating hike. The trail climbs gradually through magical forests of dwarf bamboo, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, and fir, until we reach Kayche La Pass (3,700m)—marked with fluttering prayer flags and sweeping views.
From the pass, the landscape opens into serene alpine meadows as we descend gently toward Gangtey Village, surrounded by prayer wheels, fluttering flags, and whispering winds. This hike offers a quiet, moving communion with nature—an ideal setting for silent reflection and mindful walking.

Day 08: PARO
Morning Meditation
At dawn, we visit the majestic Gangtey Goempa Monastery, its ancient halls echoing with chants of compassion. This sacred site, dating back to the 7th century, is a rare jewel of Bhutanese spirituality. Sitting in meditation on its peaceful lawns, you can sense the timeless wisdom held within its relics and sacred texts.
After this quiet start, we begin our 5-hour journey to Paro Valley, descending from the highlands into the lush, cultural heart of western Bhutan. The evening is free to rest, reflect, and prepare for the culminating hike of our journey.

Day 09: Excursion and Meditation at TAKTSANG MONASTRY
Today is the spiritual pinnacle of our journey. After breakfast, we set off for the legendary Taktsang Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliffside. The hike takes about an hour to the cafeteria viewpoint, offering one of the most iconic sights in Bhutan—the Tiger’s Nest seemingly suspended in air, draped in clouds and prayer flags.
According to legend, Guru Padmasambhava flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave, sanctifying this ground for all time.
Here, we engage in a meditation session focused on impermanence, one of the central teachings of Buddhism. In the stillness of this sacred site, we reflect on the transient nature of life and the wisdom that arises when we embrace change with clarity and grace.

Afterward, we enjoy a picnic lunch at the base, then visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most revered temples. Beneath the ancient orange trees, we hold a final retreat session, where the head priest performs a Khaddar Blessing Ceremony—adorning each participant with a silk scarf symbolizing protection, healing, and well-being.
A unique dice divination ritual follows, with interpretations by the monk revealing insights into your spiritual path ahead.
In the evening, we gather for a heartfelt farewell dinner featuring Bhutanese delicacies and a traditional cultural show. This final evening is a celebration of transformation and connection. Participants and facilitators share reflections on the journey—what was healed, what was learned, and how Bhutan’s spiritual light touched each heart. The night ends with graceful traditional dances that echo the rhythm of this land of peace.
